Synchronous Objects

From dance to data to objects, Synchronous Objects reveals the interlocking systems of organization in the choreography of William Forsythe’s One Flat Thing, reproduced (2000). Those systems werde quantified through the collection of data and transformed into a series of objects – synchronous objects – that work in harmony to explore those choreographic structures, reveal their patterns, and reimage what else they might look like.

Messa di Voce

Messa di Voce (ital. “placing the voice”) is an audiovisual performance in which the speech, shouts and songs produced by two abstract vocalists are radically augmented in real-time by custom interactive visualization software. The performance touches on themes of abstract communication, synaesthetic relationships, cartoon language, and writing and scoring systems, within the context of a sophisticated, playful, and virtuosic audiovisual narrative.
